One hundred and fifty years ago, the Burke and Wills Expedition left Melbourne to cross Australia from south to north. With this touring guide you too can follow the Expedition's track across Victoria, from Melbourne to Swan Hill. The touring guide includes a history of the expedition and uses diary excerpts from the explorers' journals, along with newspaper reports from 1860 to chart the expedition's progress across Victoria. There are maps, historic images (including the beautiful sketches made in Victoria by the Expedition's artist, Ludwig Becker) and photographs of monuments, sculptures and cairns that have been erected along the track to commemorate Burke and Wills. The book has been written by Dave Phoenix, President of the Burke and Wills Historical Society. Dave walked across Australia in 2008 following the Expedition's route and this book is a result of his exhaustive research. To view the book, you need the latest Flash player
