	Expedition despatches and reports written in Victoria in 1860 The Burke & Wills Touring Guide has extracts from the despatches, telegrams, journals and diaries written by the members of the Burke and Wills Expedition as they travelled across Victoria in August and September 1860. On Friday, 17 August 1860, Governor Sir Henry Barkly and Lady Barkly made a visit to the expedition's camp in Royal Park. • Royal Park farewell luncheon: 17 August 1860 On Saturday 18 August 1860 at 1.00 pm, a special meeting of the Royal Society of Victoria was held. This meeting farewelled the Exploring Party. The men signed a Memorandum of Agreement, then were addressed by Sir William Stawell, who made a farewell speech.
