To the Honorary Secretary of the Royal Society of Victoria.

Sir,

In the absence of Mr Burke I had the honor to send to you, on the 14 inst: by the fortnightly Minindie mail a parcel containing Dr Beckler's report, a part of my journal and 14 sketches. I now, transmit the continuation of my notes accompanied by [blank] sketches [DGP - should have read three (3) sketches].

P.S.

Sir, I shall have the honor to send you the continuation of my diary with a number of sketches by the next mail. My time is very much taken up with camp-duties and other labors connected with the Expedition, that I was obliged to cut short this communication.

Most respectfully yours,
Ludwig Becker
