22 December 1857

At an the Adjourned Special Meeting of the Philosophical Institute of Victoria, held on Tuesday, 22 December 1857, (11 of 34 members present), the following members left the Committee:

• Haines,
• Hearn,
• Hope,
• Irving,
• Knight,
• McLean,
• Morrison,
• Murphy,
• O’Shanassy,
• Turnbull,
• W Wilson.

The following members left the Committee, but were subsequently re-elected during 1858 or 1859:

• McCoy,
• Neumayer,
• Selwyn.

The following new members were elected to the Committee;

• Higinbotham,
• Hough,
• McGillvray,
• Shiel,
• A K Smith.

The new Exploration Committee now had 25 members.
